Founded in 2014, the Birth Center of St. Pete offers personalized, family-centered midwifery services to the greater Tampa Bay Area. The Birth Center of St. Pete is the only freestanding birth center in St. Petersburg. Our services include prenatal care, childbirth education, breastfeeding support, birth and postpartum care, and parenting classes. Our Licensed Midwives are experts in healthy pregnancy and birth in the out-of-hospital setting.

The Birth Center of St. Pete includes two birthing rooms, both equipped with tubs for hydrotherapy and waterbirth. Our birthing center offers a “home away from home” setting for families to enjoy throughout their prenatal, birth and postpartum experience. For families that prefer home birth, we bring all our equipment and supplies to your home to facilitate a safe and calm birth.

At The Birth Center of St. Pete, we acknowledge that the majority of pregnancies and births are normal and can happen with little medical intervention. We recognize that women, their families and their babies deserve respectful, safe care.  We promote the evidence-based, women-centered Midwives Model of Care™. We encourage our families to take an active role in the care they receive at the birth center. We provide information, not advice, facilitating an opportunity for clients and families to make informed choices that best serve their individual lives. Our families have the right to exercise personal autonomy and have full freedom of choice in every decision that is made about their care. We work with our families to facilitate an empowering and healthy childbearing year.
